How can I get the squish angle measured?

What squish clearance are you guys running on trail SRX's on good 94 octane gas?

I thought I read someone .050-.055"???

What is the stock squish angle on a 1998 srx?

If I have a steeper squish angle can I run a tighter squish and have an effective burn pattern, with no detonation?

What's the stock 1998 srx chamber size? I keep reading 26cc, is this true?

How many .001" would it take to get 1cc smaller in the chamber?
 
.060 i think for 2000 and .010 more for 98-99 if i remember ...for other things ask mr viper or some other people here are pretty good at it
 
Yeah I kept reading the 00+ were 6cc smaller but I kept seeing 24cc for 00+. I said no way in hell the 98-99 were 30cc.
 
24cc -2000 and 26cc 98-99 learn it from mr wiper and alots of discussion about it

I see you've had some burn down issues? Whats the cause, to tight of a squish?
 
lean burn down i think maybe my squish didnt help but i think it was more lean burn .. raise the main and no more burn so
 
stock angle is 11, mr viper recomended 17 with .055 squish band. i ran 22cc with this angle on my 2001 srx engine in my viper for a season, i used super to make sure but ran reg one time. compression was in around 145ish, long time ago so numbers might be off.
 
Ok My cousin did some work on my heads, I was wondering how I can check the Squish angle. I will be checking the squish, But I was thinking about tightening it up to about .05-.055" If I have an angle around 17.
 
stock squish angle is 10 deg. stock viper head squish angles are 10 deg as well. 98700, the squish angle isn't the only thing that will determine the octane of fuel to run. the squish band clearance and the squish band width also determines this, cause they both also affect the msv value, as does the squish angle. higher msv's = higher octane fuel needed. lower msv's = lower octane fuel.
 
When you say those numbers you are referring to m/s right?

Also, do you have a computer program to get the MSV?
 
m/s is meters per second. that is the value that the squish velocity is measured in. i currently don't have a computer program, but a friend of mine does. i plan on purchasing some here very shortly.

there's a couple of them, but the 2 that i've heard the most of are bimotion and tsr. tsr seems to be more popular, but bimotion is a lot less money, plus the upgrades are free, where as tsr, you need to pay for the upgrades. tsr has a couple head programs. you will have to buy the "head package" now (cause they don't sell single packages anymore) and within that package, will contain the needed programs to do your head work.
