hard to beat a stock srx with a little clutching. (reliable as heck) All I ever did is clutching per Turk on mine and it did'nt get beat by to many sleds. just my .02 cents worth.

personally, leave it alone.
Stock it will be .060"-.063" on a 2000-02 srx. The 98-99 engines were a bit more, and also had a larger volume dome.
So there is not that much to play with

not really....just leave it alone, especially if the rest of the sled is stock.

Man, I just sent my heads to Hauck yesterday..,.Hope it was not a mistake. I'm a lake racer with a little UP trail riding. Most people I talked to said it works great for the money. My 01 SRX is clutched, jetted, and runs like a raped ape. I haven't been beat yet and dont' want to be with the guys I ride with. Maybe I will call Hauck and get the specs on what all is involved with the head mod.

Just shaving the heads and cutting down the squish is not beneficial. You can have the heads reworked by Hauck or Iantomasi which will help you. If you don't get into the squish angle, or dome, you will only be dropping the squish angle, and volume, and you will build more heat.

Yammiegod, I see you don't have an 2001 SRX in your line up. Thats how you don't get beat, they were the fast ones. Also, I'm pretty picky what I race. Just got the SRX last year. Been smokin Polaris 900 Con Fusions and some Cats. Valin, thanks for your thoughts.
X2 for Iantomasi, Flav works his magic with the chamber!

This statement is 100% True. I can pretty much ensure you'll be 100% happy with customer service, and the work performed! Top of the line work at (IMO) reasonable pricing!
I'll be going for a dyno soon!
where about is Iantomasi?

In Bowmanville, Ontario.
Bowmanville, Ontario...... Near Oshawa.
I'm not to sure if you're in Ontario on in the states (Bonfield is also in the states). If you're in Ontario I suggest HIGHLY you get work done through Iantomasi.
EDIT: Ryan, I guess we have a little bit of competition...........
