2002 Yamaha Viper Snowmobile OEM Rear Suspension Shocks

Not the exact same scenario but I tried to put the stock shocks off of my short track viper onto a 151" skid out of a 03 RX-1 MTN. THe shocks seemed to have the same dimensions but they were way to stiff. I tried loosening up all of the adjustments and you could barely get the skid to compress. I would imaging you might run into the same scenarion with the 144 skid in your viper MTN. I ran the stock RX1 shocks in the skid and it worked way better.
 
Oki, so it might be to stiff.. Nobody else have tried some similar or know if it might work?

maby if i take the springs from my old shocks and put on?

Yes, they will work dimension-wise, but as mentioned above the calibration is a bit different. The specs are in the Tech Manual. I can post later if you don't have access to one. The Viper is not as different as the setup 151Viper mentioned, but it is different.
