151 viper mtn feedback??

mntvipermn-I ran my mtn viper with a 151 and stock tunnel too. I had the flap get sucked in until I cut about an inch off the bottom of the flap. Never had any other issues. I have a set of 144 to 151 Tracks USA rail extensions for sale if you go this route. I was in the same boat as you, My stock 144 track was shredded so I went longer. If you do it go with anti ratchet drivers, you will be glad you did.

Mine wouldn't fully extend the lift at first so I set it so that it won't go all the way down, I'll have to look at the jack when I get home, believe it was at a Home of Economy or Tractor Supply where it was purchased.

Not a picture of a Viper Mtn, but my old beast with Hartman's 156 kit, and some other fun stuff too! Hartman is the way to go.

That is one sweet sled MtnMax600!

I sent you the cash for those rail extensions, and my new summer project is installing my like-new Camo Challenger 151" track onto my Mnt Viper! Can't wait..... Don't know how much better it will be from 144", but I imagine a little better. And I already own a sweet track!

Also planned are extros, as my track is fully clipped/all windows open.

Unrelated but also planned is a new jackshaft/ bearing replacement as mine is shot :o|

But, I can't wait for next winter now! Dang, why do I always do this to myself???????

;)! ;)! ;)! ;)

Thanks mike. I wish my sled was still in that condition. Something else to think about doing while you have your skid out is put a MPI Transfer Enhancement kit on it in place of the stock transfer rods. I had one and it made a nice difference. Definitely worth the price.

Thx MtnMax600 for the thought.

I used to have a home made transfer kit that was on my skid (transfer rods removed) when i bought the sled 3 years ago from the original owner. It was really, really bad. The sled just wheelied all the time and was squirreley as all get out. Couldn't control the darn thing. Now i understand he maybe didn't set it up well, but I didn't like it. It was also chewing/delaminating the idler wheels up bad and causing all sorts of undue stress on various skid parts..... Hence, I made changes!

The skid you see is actually a replacement skid from a buddy of mine who parted out his Mnt Viper a year or so ago. I just bought his skid (he had just priorly gone through the entire skid and replaced all the of the idler wheels at the time and installed nice billet wheels, also. But then he blew his motor and just gave up on the sled and parted it out --- a decision he regrets to this very day).

So I'm very apprehensive about not having those transfer rods. I just loosen the screws out to the max and I get really good transfer. and I have enough power to get the front end lifting if i need it. My sled's off trail powder issues are typically too much trenching and the skis are always up on top of the powder.
