I decided to drop the rear suspension to replace the slides, grease up and inspect everything. This is the first time taking this apart so it was a learning experience. Good thing I did it alone cuz if it were on video it would have been very entertaining. Word to the wise, if you take a bolt out of one side without loosening the other side it will just spin.

Anyhow, I have two issues I cant figure out. First being I have two outter rear axle wheels that need replacing. I got the open axel wheels however they are they do not fit correctly. The wheel with on the nut side does not fit on axle. It is about 3/8 off (Yes they are the right part #). From what I can see if I trim the outter collar 3/16 on each side they will fit correctly. Is this normal?

Secondly, I have a bad bearing on one of the two small wheels on the top. I removed the retaining ring but that wheel does not budge. How do you get that off?

Maybe I'll video the install....

Thanks in advance.

Not sure exactly whats going on with the rear axle,

As far as pulling the stuck bearings the first thing to do is pull the snap ring that holds the wheel to the bearing. Then remove the wheel from the bearing. (this can be done using a 2 x 4 or something similar that won't damage the wheel.

Next use somethat to hammer the bearing off the axle (it also helps to put some pbblaster on it to help it along).

If that doesn't budge the bearing you can use a puller to slide over the bearing and screw it into the end of the shaft I like to use a washer so it doesn't push into the threads at all. (wear glasses when doing this i almost took out my eye when a bearing exploded on me).

Thank you for the info on the bearing. Makes sense and I will try this in the AM.

I may not have explained the rear axle well enought to understand. Lets start with someone must have added a forth wheel. I understand these came with three.

When I put the assembly together with the new outter wheels the Axle is to short for the wheels. So, either I need an axle that is 3/8" longer or I trim the two outter collars 3/16" to bring the outter wheels 3/8" closer to the frame allowing the wheels to sit 100% on the axle.

I'm not sure exactly whats going on with the rear axle wheels, but you should not have to trim anything. As for the two smaller wheels, as stated already, you can try to tap them off with something like a 2x4 but best to use a small bearing puller. They should slide right off providing they weren't put on with retaining compound, might need some heat to loosen them up. As for replacing the bearings once you get the wheels off, you can place the wheel on top of a vise with the jaws open and tap the bearing out with a rubber mallet and socket. When installing the new bearing make sure you get it started straight and tap it in with the rubber mallet and a socket large enough to span the entire bearing (you want to put force against the outter race of the bearing only) or you can use the old bearing you just took out to seat the new one.

I'll see if I can get some pics up on the rear axle. Something is not right. I know when I installed the smaller wheels I needed a bolt kit where the nut fits half way into the bearing. Maybe, I need something like that.
