traling arms for long travle SRX

if i long travel my SRX front end with SXR rods i need the SXR trailing arms correct? i just want to check that the arms are different before i start this

From what I gather, the rods are all the same. The trailing arms are different, in the camber. SRX has a V on the front and the SXR has an R on the front of the arms. I am also trying to figure out the best way to get longer travel on my front SRX also.
Can anyone correct us on this issue. :letitsnow
 
no, you can still use the srx trailing arms, the sxr rods are just a little longer to allow for more travel.
 
I was contemplating doing this to my SRX in the future as well....
Dont you loose some of your cornering "on rails" effect when you long travel the front?
Thats just what I've been told...any truth to it?
 
I would think so since the center of gravity will be higher. But i assume it wouldnt be any worse then a sxr or a viper in the corners.

Im sure you can correct for this by having your coilovers dialed in for your weight and riding style... al la Pioneer performance.

The higher you raise the sled (front OR rear OR both), you increase the CG (center of gravity) and naturally would loose alittle bit of the feeling of tight cornering or being on rails feeling. I know I did when put an M-10 in my '01 SRX but it was a good trade-off for the ride comfort, in my opinion, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I did not do anything to the front other than to flip the front shock mount brackets over which gained me another 1" of ground clearance.

When I did my front end, I had the guys at Fabcraft make up a set to the width I wanted.
Best of all was having the heim joints inside and out. (no worn bushings in a week)lol
Those rods, with the Scott's shock bracket flip trick and the viper trailing arms worked awesome
