What do you figure insurance rates to be on a Z06?

It might help a lot that statistically older more mature drivers buy vettes, unlike the STI, or regular WRX.

I know my v8 mustangs were cheap to insure because they were LX's. The insurance companies caught on later that a V8 lx was mechanically the same as the GT, minus a few hundred pounds, which actually made them faster than the GT's. By the time they figured that out, I was over 25, and insurance droped quite a bit when I hit that age.

More.... But I don't care. If it makes me happy I will get it. Life is way to short to not have fun. If you can afford it, GO FOR IT!
 
Buy a 2002 Z28 and leave it at that...1/2 the price and much, much easier to wrench on. I concur that the LS1/LS6 family of engines goes thru clutches. I went thru 4 before I picked the right one and put it in myself. Also, 6 speed cars are hard on the rear ends...I've put a 12 bolt into mine.Good clutch, long tube headers a 4.10 gear and you are easily into the 12's. These engines respond very well to power adders as well.

No thanks, I HATE the crapmaros, lol. Either a vette of a Sti. I want a nice cruiser, v-8 powered, Track/road course car............. Vetter or Sti.

Lol, You probably would. They are ok, Don't get me wrong They are great cars. Just not What I'm looking for anymore. I'm done with drag racing, and moddifing, I just want a stock-ish vette (Exhaust mods ect.) to cruise and enjoy some good old road coursing. Your camaro is nice, But I don't see myself in one.

I agree with you, If you can afford it, and it makes you happy, go for it.

I just recall as a 20 yr old, I was in college, paying my own way through school and living quite a distance from my parent's house, that I had barely any extra money. My mustang was paid off the day I bought it, and I still needed to be under my parent's insurance because it was a mustang, and I was a male under 25. I had to get good grades in class otherwise I would not have been able to afford the insurance on my own policy.

Now I am living the dream owning a house and having a mortgage. At least I own my own garage to put the cars I can't afford in it. LOL

Soon enough though I will be able to afford to have machine that makes it worth it for me to sign up on the TY 4 stroke side.:)

Always will be! That's something that can't change. I still have my Mustang suede Jacket.
