im just wondering how these sleds would compare in a drag race?i know the SRX is at a displacement disavantage but i beat lots of Z's with my old F7.im interested in both of these tripples and can't decide which to get..both are 2001's.

Either sled will put a smile on your face. Flip a coin :2strokes:

THE MACH Z IS ONE OF THE ALL TIME GREAT MUSCLE SLEDS. THE TRIPLES WERE VERY FAST AND HAD COBS OF HP. I STILL BELIEVE THEY WERE A BETTER SLED THAN THE NEW BORN MACH Z TWIN . VERY FORMABLE RACE FOR THE SRX. 3:16 (yammie tony)

i love the looks of the SRX..the CK3 Mach are nice too..its a hard decision.

SRX is way more fun to ride. Feels like a toy compared to the big tank feel of th Z. My bet is th Z will dominate on a lake run, but anywhere else, forget it. Go with the SRX!!

I had 3 mach Z 800 triples before their reliability issues brought me to Yamaha. When running right you won't catch em on the straights or lakes.

Take the Mach Z and be happy, My next sled is going to be either a T-cat or the Mach Z. B/C I am going to build a lake warrior, but trailable.

Ive owned both and i think the 809 mach z gets the edge on speed. It also is a lot better ride than the srx.

The srx is way more reliable and handles way better than the z in turns.

They both are awsome sleds but i had a lot of trouble with my mach's.(stators, cdi's,fuel pumps, crank bearings). The srx is only a tad slower but they are stone reliable.

I'd get the srx and put a edge or some different skidframe on there. Then you'd have a better ride and the handling and reliability of a yamaha. If the srx is dialed well with maybe some heel clicker clutching I bet it would'nt be that far off in a race.

thats a good honest opinion on both sleds..i've heard about the reliabilty issues with the Z's

A well setup MachZ will take a well setup SRX any day of the week. They make more power. They are heavy, and don't handle well. They are quite a bit worse on fuel. Then again, you are really comparing apples to oranges.....you're comparing a 700 to an 800.

If you want a nice sled to drive in the trails, buy the SRX, and port the cylinders. You won't lose any reliability if it is done properly, and it will then pull on the MachZ, if your setup is decent. If you mainly lake race, and don't really do alot of trail riding, the buy the MachZ if you main goal is to go fast. It is always better to start with a bigger motor when trying to make power. The old saying goes.......there is no replacement for displacement.

had a 99 mach they are fast and the only problem i had was the cdi i put on about 4500km's oh and almost forgot i had to put some gas through it..lol

we run mostly 660-1000foot drags,my ported F7 used to kill the Machs in this distance.who does the best porting on the SRX's? I've also found a 03 Viper thats is in excellent shape, can these be made to run as good as a SRX?

If you make it fair and put a 780 kit on a SRX, I bet the SRX will smoke the mach Z everywhere.

But like Valin said, your comparing a 700 to an 800.

What times/speed were you running in 1000' with your f7?

in 660feet on timers last season,on good ice it ran 6.1's -6.2's witch i thought was respectable.a intomassi Ski-Doo 700 pro-stock was running 5.7's-5.8's on the same day(he went on to win the MSRF 700 class)..as for Mph on Radar i was showing 91mph in 660 and 107mph in 1000feet. :2strokes:
