This has turned into beating a dead horse, lets just agree to disagree. No hard feeling and either end I hope!
Sounds good.
FWIW, I had a crappy Tuesday. I apologize if I took it out on you.
Sleddindineair, an xcr600 is a completely different motor from the 03 600 the OP mentions. We had one of those until last year, and the 600 ves I speak of would decimate that 96 XCR (xlt based triple, stock with an EPI clutch kit) like it had 20 more hp than that sled, and it did. There are 96 hp in the xcr to 116 in the XCsp. The XC600, what yeat was that? The early ones (big block USA made design) made in XC sleds through 99 that were non VES are down on power compared to the VES version, like around 100hp to the 116 -120hp of the 2000+ VES 600. The VES one is actually a small block 440VES based mill. Current injected 600VES twins make 125 hp stock.
Dmm, the sx version you have is practically the same sled as the SX-r 700. The SXR just has a longer suspension. Shorter travel suspensions rob less hp than longer travel ones. So that is in your favor. As for carbides, I am really a fan of the Stud Boy Shaper bars. Like Ding said, the length of carbide depends on a lot of things, but mostly personal preference and if you have studs, and how many studs. There was no "full out war" per say. I think that due to there being so many 600cc engines in Polaris' over the years that not everyone understands what models have what engine. These motors have a range of around a 30+ hp difference. I wouldn't expect guys on a yamaha site to know that.
