I own both tracks. I am just wondering which one would be better. I never used either n heard good about both. I ride fields, cross smaller streams ( between fields),sometimes groom trails if I make it up to new york again. I did have a stock track with studs in it but I am going to be running without to see how it works. Both tracks seem to be alike n not sure what to go with. Also I heard that the ripsaw howls pretty bad? Does the 6 pitch also howl?

Any input is welcome.

Thanks Joe

I think all of these tracks howl to some point, I have the ripsaw and have ran it for thousands of miles and its a little noisy, but nothing excessive in my opinion. The ripsaw will be the better trail/packed snow track still being good all around with the 6 pitch/predator being better off trail and looser snow. You can't go wrong as there both great tracks just a little different.I've been thrilled with my 136" ripsaw in a wide variety of conditions here in northern michigan and some up riding.

I loved the ripsaw I put on my 136" Vmax Rage(see link in my sig). That said, I think the popular opinion is that you give up alot more off-trail with the ripsaw than you give up on-trail with the 6 pitch. I never had a chance to try the sixer, but have not really heard any bad about it.

6 pitch 1.25 or the new Cobra 1.352,I remove the ripjunk on every sled it comes on after I get them home from the dealer. The Ripjunk is an ok trail track, but if you ride of trail it really lacks performance it trenches bad,I ride about 60% on trail and 40% off trail so the ripjunk doesn't work for me.Thats My .02. I like the 6 pitch 1.25 and have ran it on 3 sleds now.I will be trying the Cobra 1.325 on my 08 Apex LTX GT,I will have a brand new 0 miles Ripjunk of my Apex LTX GT 4-sale on here real soon.

I now have to figure out how much different riding I do then. Also obviously either one will out do the stock track. Thanks for the input so far. Yea as far as snowmobile trails there are none near me. We just ride around town unless I can get more money to go on a trip. The nearest trails are 2 to 5 hours away. But when we go it is all trails we ride. Which only happens once a year.

it seems like more people like the 6 pitch I think I might keep that on my viper. I still get to check out what both track are like because both my sleds are 136.
I am still thinking though. thanks for the input

if 6 pitch = CARVE then I'm all for it.
Ask TURK what he thinks of the RIPSAW, lol.

I've had a 6 pitch predator on two Yamaha's, and I had one on my viper as a 121 until I turned it into a 136 and had a 136" 1.25 ripsaw laying around so I thru in on. That ripsaw sucks. I'd go back to the Predator if I could but I dont' want to spend another 400 or so bucks. The cobra sounds like a nice track also. I wouldn't put a ripsaw on again. my 2 cents.

I guess you are saying he had a bad experience with these...lol
I probably shouldn't speak for him, but I can certainly point you to some info:

Never answer your first question. No the 6 pitch does not howl like a ripsaw. I drove a buddies Vector and wondered what the hell the noise was (very loud). He told me it was the track. Mine at 100+ mph sounds like every other track I've used on a snowmobile.

I also have a friend with an Apex and although I have no idea what he did on that trip, the Ripsaw (ironically) litterally riped in half.

Cobra is the Predator. Camoplast changed the name.
