Edge Skid vs Pro Action

Hey Guys

I got an 01 Vmax that I really need to do something with the suspension this year...I've gone through 2 sets of kimpex golds in the front 3 being shafts and 1 that's limp as a goose right now. My main question is I've got a 02 xtra-12 from an edge chassis sitting at my house with the Fox PPS Shocks. I have my rear shock cranked as high as the spring will go and when I stand on it it sags bad and never returns to full height unless I pick the *** end up. (I only weight about 160 btw) So rather than getting a sets of ohlins for the rear. I was thinking I would just pay one of the guys at my local shops to revalve and recharge the floats and just drop the xtra in. I can make all the reinforcement brackets at work on the mill from left over stock so that no cost.

I have the donor sled for bolt hole locations unless someone has a template already kicking around...

An Xtra 12 is a lot different than an edge skid that you mentioned in the title.

I would not throw an xtra 12 in any sled unless it was the last ditch and only effort personally.

The xtra 12 is a comfort tuned sled and you will have a lot of work to do chassis tuning wise to get it to work decently. Now I see you mentioned the PPS rear, so that has me thinking that you are confused as to what you are calling the skid.

If you actually have an edge skid with the pps rear and not what is called an xtra 12, then yes, the edge skid is a much better skid than the proaction is, even if they had the same shocks.

buy some viper shocks and have them rebuilt for your light weight, then apply what you read in the threads below, that sled will be a great sled.
if your sled is an xt, you will need a few extra parts to get it to viper/xtc specs

My mistake...Just got back from school weds...for break. Got alot of ambition today...pulled my skid got new slides installed on the edge skid. Pulled the shocks, non coil over one needs a complete rebuild, but hopefully I can see one of the local guys that services them before I leave for work in the AM to get those rebuilt by the time I'm home for x-mas. Drilled the holes in my tunnel, gonna make some reenforcement brackets at school. A couple new idlers and well see how she works...As far as front end viper shocks the best bet aside from a set of ohlins?
