i also noticed i have a small micro fracture in the suspension

this is all on my new sled i just bought.

W-arm crack. Pretty common on the pro-action skid. Pull it out, weld it up, and follow the write up for tightening up the skid an dyou should be good to go.

Can't see the plastic pictures so can't offer an opinion on those.

Edit - and now I can. No idea on that. Almost looks like someone went after it with a little bondo and a DA.

thanks man yea i just bout this sled off a guy 2200 miles $2000 but i bet he did not know about the micro fracture. i was just wondering if the plastic bleaching was a common thing like the guy told me. also would i be ok to rid the sled with that kinda fracture

I've seen them discolor/fade from an impact, but that isn't something I've seen before. We only have two of the blue bellies with my group so.........

As for the crack, sure you can ride it, but it will only get worse and gives the skid someplace to flex where it's not supposed to. The ride suffers, and depending on how/where it lets go you might do some real damage. Pull it out and fix it right before it costs you riding time during the season.

so its only on one side or both? it does look like some one tried to make some repairs to it.

check the inside of the plastic.

Sand it and paint it black.

you can try to heat with a heat gun it it help to bring the color back it work good on four wheeler plastic went u hit something

I have never seen anything like that before. It is not from impact IMO.
Wrong places for that. Hot hair drier and if that does not work, try Krylon Fusion paint for plastic. Does not appear to affect structural strength of the tub, just the good looks of sled. Fix the crack when you have a chance, should be ok for a while.

I bet you five bucks that the previous owner tried cleaning the belly pan with spray 9 ,i seen a freind of mine do that to his dash is his older model jimmy and the next day he had to take the dash out to repaint, try out a spot under the belly pan to see if this is the culprit.

i have seen them discolor from impact, crashing etc. try repainting with krylon or other plastic paint or replace with black belly pan....they look super sweet.

I've also heard that if you use a hair dryer, it will look like new.. It's worth a try....

thanks guys for all the tips i really love this form you guys are awesome people i hope to learn more and maybe i can help some one else in need i am gonna try the hair dryer see if that works ill let ya know. as far as the track crack thing how do i get that out to get it welded i do a lot of jumping 5-10 feet at times i don't wanna brake any thing i don't need to fix later i just dumped all my money in to this sled.

I have to say that if you planned to jump your SRX, you'd be better off swapping skids for an M10 or other high travel skid since you'll have it out to fix the W arm anyhow. As for your belly pan, I've had the same discoloration on my '01 and it was due to impact (rubbin' is racin'). Not sure if a hair drier is hot enough, but a wave or two with standard heat gun (in the paint isle) should clean them up.

i would definately look at another skid as someone else mentioned. If you dont youll be causing alot more damage. SRX's just arnt built for that type of abuse.

maybe someone crashed into it and made the plastic turn white i alway uses a heatgun and it will come back don't melt the plastic though..

lol so i guess im not flying to far on this sled i don't have any more money to buy any thing else 4 this snowmobile i make 7.50 35 hours a week do the math see how long it took me to save $2000 lol. i was looking at the m10 and they look hela nice on the srx but i just can not afford to pay over 1500 on a new skid but thanks 4 all the help the sled runs nice starts on the first pull and has plenty of power so even if the plastic is faded or what ever it still runs like a champ i was just wondering what may have caused it. last year i was running a arctic cat 580 zr the dam thing melted the motor down. ill never buy a cat a again but my dad loves his zr 800 lol i told him im gonna run laps around him this year with the srx i hope so
