srx plactic fade?

I'll even paint it with etching primer and IMRON (they paint airplanes with it) or equivalent...

Thanks Don... The guy spent some HARD EARNED money on a sled, the LEAST I COULD DO is fix his control arm so he doesn't KILL HIMSELF if that thing decides to come apart!!! I CANNOT give away a BUNCH of porting jobs like YOU DO,,, ( even if I could,,, I probably SUCK at porting anyways) but,,, nevertheless,,, I could help a BROTHER in need!!! hats off to you gary ...you are a great guy no matter how much trouble you stir up ..:rofl: ...thats what this site is all about ...helping fellow riders out ...i have found some others like you ...CHADG....donated a throttle block and bars with brake leaver ....in my time of need do to being unemployed ....i have parts here i am not using i would like to give away to someone who needs them to have a riding season .......i think we should have a free section with the classifieds .....mabe ill start a post of extra parts for free and see if others have stuff they can throw in .....

i think my uncle is welding it for me i got home today and my dad told me that he talked to him "owes him a faver". man that's a really nice offer tho but i would have to pay u some kinda money to fix it lol its jut how i role. i do live at home still even tho im 22 so i don't pay rent but still ide send u some money but like i said i dont no any thing about this sled my dad got scared when i started to talk about taking the skid out to get it fixed but can i take the w arm off the skid cus i cant ship the whole skid. maby u could give me some good tips to help my uncle when he fixes this problem 4 me since it seems like u have fixed this b4

I'd be HAPPY AS A LARK to fix it for you... I really don't need your money,,I'd rather help you out.. It's a "karma" thing that you might not understand... What goes around,,,comes around,,, so,,, I'll get it back if I didn't already get it... Understand???? I will either TIG weld it or MIG weld it together.. It depends on what it looks like.. I will ADD strips of metal to reinforce it.... If you choose to have your uncle do this,,, MAKE SURE you tell him NOT TO GET IT TOO HOT and "arc welding" is a BAD IDEA!!!! it has to do with overheating the metal surrounding the weld.. THATS WHERE IT WILL CRACK AT if you don't weld it with the right application (gtaw or gmaw).... I have a Miller syncrowave 350 that is about 1 year old and also a 140amp SNAP ON MIG welder.... I think I am pretty good at it also!!! The offer still stands,,,, even if your uncle screws it up!!!! Gary oles nosboy

I have parts I would give away also if the person was a TY forms member of good standing for at least a year. I don't want some jerk picking up my parts and reselling on E-bay for a profit :die:

Hey Dj,, Ask around on this website for guys living in MAINE for a hand and I'm just about SURE someone living close enough to you could lend a hand.. I didn't see the photo's,,,but,,,,if you don't do it right,,, it will let you know that you didn't do it right and it will be back to haunt you... One thing BAD about japanese metals is that JAPAN uses SUB STANDARD GARBAGE and mixes whatever they can find into their "steel" and REALLY MAKES SOME GARBAGE STEEL!!!! I am a CONSTRUCTION MACHINIST for the Government and I see it all the time... You have to be really careful when you go "heating and tweaking" GARBAGE STEEL so you don't create MORE PROBLEMS that you had in the 1st place... I hope it works out for you,, and if you STLL need a hand,, I'll be there for you... Gary Oles nosboy
 
Just like any other Manufacturer in the Snowmobile market,, YAMAHA does make some GARBAGE... One of my first sleds was a 1981 Yamaha SRX 440.. The motors were GARBAGE and I really hope they FIRED that engineering team that came up with that piss poor engine idea!!! they must have hired that same engineering team for the 1998 SRX again,, because they came up with some more piss-poor idea's on that crankshaft also.... YAMAHA has came up with some FANTASTIC ideas also,,, Don't get me wrong... Of ALL THE SLED mfgr's,,, I PREFER YAMAHA !!! i bought a Ski-Doo in 1998 for my wife ,, and although I really liked that sled (it did REALLY GOOD WHEELIES!!!) I still have LOYALTY to YAMAHA..... When my control arms on my sled take a crap,, I will BUILD NEW ONES...The one's I build MIGHT be made out of 4130!!! (just an idea)!!!
 
My Wife and I BOTH ride YAMAHA sleds and dirt bikes!!!! As far as "daily drivers''' we BOTH enjoy MOPARS!!! and on the dragstrip a 900hp 1973 Challenger!!!!( although I STILL CANNOT talk my wife into doing a few "squirts" down the 1320... (maybe next season!!!)
 
Thats NINE HUNDRED HORSEPOWER on MOTOR....... NO NITROUS!!!! (not yet,,,at least!!!)
 
lol nice i have a 1995 talon with about 140 hp kinda scarry when u think the sled has 140 ish
