Help me locate .......

I am need of a hood cable, the cable that mounts to motor and then to the hood so it doesnt flip too far forward anybody have any ideas on where to get one or what other options I may have I just got my hood painted and dont want it to flip open too far and crack the paint


Any help on where to find one or what others have used as a different option

I assume you mean a used one cause the dealer should have new ones.....bought one for my 2000 Vmax 3 years ago.

Go to any hardware store and buy aircraft cable the same length and thickness and some aluminum connectors...... good as new.

Yes a used one because the dealers want like $25 for one and I dont know but that seems kinda expense for a cable but mayeb I am wrong

^Thats the info I was looking for in terms of other alternatives some have done for this.
I am going to try to find some tonite.

Do you think Lowes/Home Depot may have something like that???

Any hardware store should have some thin cable (large picture hanging cable).
Use a butt connector that will fit two strands of wire. Put the connector on the cable, cable through the mount hole and back into the butt connector. Crimp the butt connector really tight, good to go for under $5.
