Ok, heres the deal, how do I tell the difference between Viper rear shocks and SRX rear shocks just by looking at them? The Viper ones should be longer rite? I just bought a set of viper rear shocks to put on my SRX and I compaired them to the extra skid sittin in my my garage outta my parts sled (01 SRX) and they look the same. I havent had a chance to crawl under the sled I ride to see if they are different, but how would I tell witout actually taking them out? Maybe I already had a set of Viper shocks on the parts sled.... how can I tell? Is there a part number somewhere?:dunno:

Thanks in advance

How much longer though?

I'm fairly positive I still have the stock setup in my sled but that the thing tho, its still in the sled. The parts sled skid is out and I've kinda been using it as an "illistration" to get myself familiar with the whole setup before I take the good one all apart. Now I have no idea if they're even set up the same. As I'm slowly finding out the prevoius owner did alot to this sled (Mostly bad and very little good) and I was just trying to figure out if the shocks got taken out before I got my hands on it. I was kinda hopin sombody out there knows the part numbers for each, that would make this whole indentification process alot easier. I guess I'm just tryin figure out what I actually have before I start tearin things apart.

So I went to the website (thanks again for that heads up, definately gonna use that site more in the future) and the part numbers on there dont seem to be the same as what I found stamped on my shocks. The numbers on my shocks are L15W and R17S that are stamped on the ends of each. Are these not the rite numbers to be looking at? The ones on the website were like 12 digits long......... why am I not getting this? :o| Will somebody please smack me and get me headin in the rite direction with this:EXER:

I would imagine those numbers are KYB's part numbers, not Yamaha's. I tried to find a KYB website that had info for snowmobile shocks, but no luck! sorry
