SRX700 VS. Vmax-4

From what I've read the vmax-4 is more of a muscle sled because of the weight in front it doesn't handle as good. I'm just wondering if you put a M10 in the rear of a Vmax4 would it be as good for trails as a SRX? Or is the vmax just a lake / drags sled period.
 
I love my V-MAX but if I where trail running I'd drive my SRX... Better on fuel and oil great performance and a decent ride and handling.. Both really fun sleds on the lakes..
 
SRX for trails... VMAX 4 awesome sled loved it but on trails and bumps....not so good. There are a few members here that have a M 10 in the VMAX4..
My problem was the front suspension still didnt give all that much..
 
I have a 1992 Vmax-4 with a long travel rear skid and a 1997 700SX (not an SRX I know)

Here is the easiest way I can describe the difference between them,
the SX is a point and shoot type sled while you need to man-handle the Vmax-4.

I like the way you have to work the Vmax-4 to make it corner, hot on the gas then a pinch of the brake to get it pitched sideways and back on the hammer (Wow what a rush) I guess that's why it's still my favorite ride and has over 21,000 miles on the odometer.

For the tight twisty trails the SX is less work but nothing puts a grin on my face faster than pulling the trigger of a 170 hp Vmax-4.

In the post from Vmax4rules, he said in it that "there was nothing like pulling the trigger of a 170hp Vmax4. POPS asked if that was what the V-Max 4 was rated at. In answering POPs question, (VMax4 was talking about a 1992), the 92's made between 135-140.
 
vmax4rules was talking about pulling the trigger on his 170hp 1992 with quad pipes. he was not stating the 92 was 170 hp stock.
