Ok,

I had my 98 SRX700 tuned up. The guy cleaned the carbs checked the PV'setc. I had this done at a shop as the thing was fouling plugs every 5o yards and not the same one

So get the tune up done and same shit.

WTF man All i want to do now is get the thing to run god for half an hour so I can sell it!!

Any one got any ideas before I take it to another shop and get them to try and figure it out..
I dont want to spend a couple hundred more ARGH

I even took off the Bender can and put the stock one back hoping that would help but NO Fricking luck

I am at my wits end with this thing
I love the sled and it is in Very clean condition with only 8k on it but man.....

How are the reeds on it? If they aren't sealing correctly it can foul plugs and no carb changes or adjustments will fix it. If they haven't been replaced in 8k they are deffinetly worth looking at. I have a spare new set if needed. And also has the sled just started doing this or has it been the same for more than one season?

it started doing it last season which I wa only able to put about 50kms on last season.

Never have checked the reeds nor did the shop I think

what are they worth? would be worth shiping them to me or just for me to go and pick some up at a yammy dealer?
Maybe this would fix the issue cus two seasons ago it was not an issue at all . ONly maybe three plugs over 1200kms.

Thanks for the help

They are finnicky about being warmed up. If you don't, it's foul on ya. Make sure you let it sit and warm up for a few minutes before touching the throttle.

My 1998 fouled plugs till I got use to it...it was jetted 1 size up thou... to keep it from fouling I started it this way...

First make sure the heated handwarmers, grips are turned in the off position..

Full choke, pull over till starts, immidiately turn it to half choke for a couple seconds and shut the choke totally off, and take it for a little run going easy, just blurping the throttle do this till it warms up...

Also don't let it sit there and ideal for any amount of time...

If you do this it will more than likeley work...

trust me it took awhile to catch on but it's worth it...

If this doesn't work I'm guessing your jetted to rich....

My srx would foul about 10 sets of plugs a year! I got the q-tips and carb cleaner out, and jetted it correctly, And I was golden. I didn't even foul one set of plugs last year! I was way rich, You could be also! What color are the plugs?

I was fouling plugs on my Viper really bad on the bottom end one time. As long as it was ran in mid-range or top end it was fine. Found out that I had routed the oil cable wrong the last time I had the air box off (cousin took the liberty of gutting my air box when I was gone, I put it back together), I had the oil cable held open slightly so that on bottom end it was over oiling. Make sure to check that your oiler isn't being held open.
