hey guys,
i am pretty new around here. love the forum, been lurking for years. anyway, here is a 03 viper i found on e-bay. just wanted your input. starting bid is $3500. buy it now is $3999. 1485 miles. reasonable...? a little too much? i e-mailed the guy and asked him to post more pics! more info, etc. he didn't do a very good job in the description and pic department! all he said was tht sled has been gone through, and engine compatment is so clean you could eat off it. it is a dealer selling sled. take a look, i would really appreciate the feedback!
thanks,
peter

It sure looks clean, the price boils down to what your willing to pay for one, for a ER, I dont think its way out in left field but its not a steal either. Right now with the bad economy its a buyers market, just my opinion.

thanks guys, thats kinda what my gut was telling me (a little too much). i appreciate it. i'm going to just sit and watch it. maybe it won't sell than i'll give the guy a call. i agree with the 'buyers market' comment also. it didn't feel right to me, the outside input really helps.
thank you!!!

I have bought a number of sleds and other equipment sight unseen (at least in person) and almost all of them have turned out to be poor deals. Pictures can hide alot, both good and bad. I have a backhoe sitting out back that I wish I had never seen before that came from an internet deal.

It is always good to see the sled in person if you can.

Prices here in Michigan dropped to well below $2000 for a clean mid mileage Viper during the summer. Now that season is looming the prices have climbed back up, but they still are well below $3000.

However as Mrviper says, if this sled turns out to be something you really want, then $3500 is not a terrible price for it. It is high now because of the current market, but in the long run you may not find a low mileage Viper in great shape for less.

Go see it if you possibly can. Also be very careful buying sleds on Ebay. You can do it, just be very careful and check it out it real well before you leap.

I love how when people list sleds they think theirs is always the most mint, like new condition and when you see it in person it looks like s***! I would keep looking.....a little high priced it seems to me.

I paid around that much two years ago for my 02 ER.It had alot of extras on it. saddle bags, tank bag, HC's ,new studs and some other A/F parts.Considering that a dealer is listing the machine you will pay more.
