Hey im just wondering what pipes would be best for a Viper? and what else beside's jetting changes should i do?I also see a heat exchanger upgrade is this nessasary?
Thanks

No Idea on the pipes but yes put the extra heat exchanger in if you don't have it. UNFOURTUNATELY you can no longer get the kit from Yamaha for $100 you have to pay more for the exchanger now.

Heat exchanger, and There is no "best" pipes. Most piped vipers have reliability issues when using bender pipes. CLutching in needed to get the engine at the targeted RPM for the pipes. It's all in how you tune. PSI............. AAEN......

WELCOME!!!!

welcome, please look above for the search feature. Pose your question there. there are about 100000000 pages on piped vipers in this forum from mild to wild. please do some reading and then ask some questions.

good luck, alot of great reading in here

I put an aftermarket silencer on mine years ago, saved a few pounds and gave it a cool sound. Replacing the rear crossover tube with a heat exchanger is a must! For the first couple of months my temp light came on constantly, installed the rear exchanger hasn't come back on since.

so basically from what i've read they all produce simular HP,what i meant by Best pipes was Fit and finish, and i figured i'd have to re-clutch for the added power.Im hoping the Crank can handle the extra RPM...I think i'll go with SLP

easy summary: Trail- SLP, quietest and most reliable

best drag racing pipe:- CPR

I have benders- have not had a single problem. I was deciding on the SLP's and the Bender pipes. I was going for the sound witch was Bender.

SLP has all the clutching and carb specs on their web site. Start out with what they recommend, it is very close to perfect set up if you decide to go with SLP pipes.
