was there any preventative maintainance done to it at the beginning of the year? like carb cleaning, power valve cleaning, new plugs, etc? i had problems w/my '99 srx 700 fouling plugs on the pto cylinder and it turned out to be a bad spark plug cap. does your plug cap, kinda just set on the plug, or does it have some resistance and then "click" on? is the plug all full of that black sooty dust on the outside, underneath where the plug cap is? if your carbs weren't cleaned, maybe you have enough belt dust, covering the air jets. this would make it run a little richer. also, if the carbs came off for cleaning, maybe the choke cable was missadjusted and the choke is on a little? what plugs are you using and what's the gap? what is the condition of the reed petals?

well first i had it running great at the shop.. it was retarded fast then i go to the park with my buddy we unload them and i let my let warm up then i fouled the plug i put a new plug in it which was br9ecs then it just foul.. i didnt even take off i am using 98 in it and it fouled the plug was just wet... then i had to bypass that stupid sen. it wouldnt let my sled go over 3 grand..

That stupid sensor saved your motor from blowing up.

the sensor is for the throttle from sticking lol

its the TORS, if something isn't right, your motor will run away, so therefore it redlines your sled at 3 grand.

Mine has been bypassed for the past 6 years of owning my sled. It was bypassed by Iantomasi.

Clean your carbs and Make sure your plug boot isn't all corroded, pull cap off (screw it off) and check the wires and see if they are corroded... may have to cut some wire off to expose new wire (don't cut alot, don't do that until your carbs are cleaned and the plug cap isn't all rusty inside) then see how it runs then do that if it is corroded.
good luck

I still like having that feature... Your motor is modded, and if you had it on it would probably be activated all the time... As for my stocker... its nice knowing there is a sensor for it, never came on though, and good thing too.

yeah its quit easy to bypassed i cleaned my carb i will have to check my plug caps

Pat, you had to bypass it because your motor would not rev up correct? its telling you somethings wrong, why bypass it and risk something bad? heck it could just be activating from a tight throttle cable...

The TORS system relies completely on two mechanical switches. One in the flipper and one at the carbs. The only real reason to disable it is to rule it out as a problem. The most common reason? Too cheap to buy a new switch. With proper throttle cable adjustment, the system will work as intended regardless of mods. Anyone that has disabled the system should be at least running a tether, so that when you get thrown from your sled during that 'watch this' moment, the sled doesn't take off due to a frozen throttle. its just 2 wires the sensor is for the throttle from sticking lol see if it sticks it tells the motor to stop at 3 grand so it doesnt go flying on you..

let us know how it goes... Hopefully its just the plug cap being loose or corroded...

Also, all my srx's did not like alot of choke.I fouled a few plugs until i figured it out. This is how all of mine were....cold engine....full choke...as soon as it fired up...went to half choke...10 seconds at half choke...turn choke off and let it warm up a few minutes. To restart when the engine is hot lightly give it a liitle gas and pull....fires everytime. After i figured out what the sled liked,i never fouled another plug.
Also make sure it's good and warm before trying to ride off, lift the hood and feel the head if you have to.

blueblooded is right on the money, SRX's came with a very rich choke. If you follow his directions you shouldn't have any more fouled plugs at start up.
