blueblooded and triplex are both correct. too many guys overchoke the srx. only use the choke to start a cold motor. then switch it off immed and only apply it on and off for a minute to get it to idle without any choke at all. if you use the choke to start it and leave it on for more than a few seconds, you will wet the plugs and risk a foul out. even if it does not foul then, you will have deposited enough carbon to make those plugs a risk as you ride that day.

Whats considered warming it up good? i start mine with choke(cold motor) then leave the choke on for about 3-5 seconds, then see if it will idle without it, and then i let it do its thing until it settles around 18-1900 rpm, then let her sit for a few minutes then take it slow to the trail.
Then when shes warm it takes not even a 1/4 pull to get it goin. Love it

ALSO, I never ever EVER touch the throttle when warming up...if it bogs, blip the choke to revive it.....few blips and it should purr nice....

MY 2002 IS SAME WAY. 3:16 (yammie tony)blueblooded said:Also, all my srx's did not like alot of choke.I fouled a few plugs until i figured it out. This is how all of mine were....cold engine....full choke...as soon as it fired up...went to half choke...10 seconds at half choke...turn choke off and let it warm up a few minutes. To restart when the engine is hot lightly give it a liitle gas and pull....fires everytime. After i figured out what the sled liked,i never fouled another plug.

What they said. Don't touch the throttle and don't use the choke anymore than you have to.
I agree.

crewchief47 said:The TORS system relies completely on two mechanical switches. One in the flipper and one at the carbs. The only real reason to disable it is to rule it out as a problem. The most common reason? Too cheap to buy a new switch. With proper throttle cable adjustment, the system will work as intended regardless of mods. Anyone that has disabled the system should be at least running a tether, so that when you get thrown from your sled during that 'watch this' moment, the sled doesn't take off due to a frozen throttle. I agree.
