mine did the same thing all rusted up....let it sit all summer and the pipe had antifreeze in it....changed o rings twice still leaks......cut the head.20 tho and its fine now! the heads were i little warped

hummm now you are scaring me cause it is the center cylender and it has a different head on that cylinder ...its a 8dn and the other 2 are 8df .....are they both 700 heads ?

No 8DF is a 600cc head. Which, IF stock will give you way more compression than the other two. I'm assuming it was machined to the 700cc specs, or the 700cc heads were brought down to the 600cc heads. I thought we've been through this already?

ya we went over the head part ...just trying to figure out what to do with it ...so i have one 700 head and 2 600 heads .....the motor is a 700 so i am hoping they milled the 2 heads to 700 specs to match the other head ....cause the compression is all the same ..if the center head is warped and i have to cut it down some ....i will have to cut the others to match correct ? will the 600 heads have enought to cut them again since i belive they have been cut to match the 700 head.....or should i just change all 3 heads and start over clean ? ..i have 2 other motors i am thinking about robbing peter to pay paul one motor is a 600 big bored to a 700 by hauck with stock heads machined down a am guessing ..........the other has a max performance head with changeable domes ......

What's your compression? They're probably all at the 700cc specs.

The 8DF heads are tighter (Less cc than the 700cc heads).

So they are all at 700cc specs. If you shave one you have to shave all three the same amount. If you're going to shave it, Then take a minimal amount out, just enough to true up the head.

ok that is what i was thinking having to cut all 3 again .....how much can be taken off a 700 head max ??? how much should i start at 2 or 3 thousands ?

my heads were out .20 thou that just trued them up and took and extra .10 tho off and i have 150 lbs comp....

What angle and band width?

OP: Just take off .05", this will true up the heads, and make a little more compression. About 125-130.

got no idea what angle and band.........didnt have time to c.c them.....they got perfect compression though

Yeah for what you're doing though, You can't run that compression on the trail all, for 3-4 days. Especially with a stock angle, and band width.
