My friend has an 06 Nytro. Black/yellow w/flames and w/the exception of the yellow hand guards bone stock. 330 miles and no issues. He is 5'4", 140 and likes my 00SRX w/Ohlins b/c it sits low and hauls. It was brought to my attention through a friend that works at a dealership here in town that Yamaha had an auction on all machines from 02-09. We heard they had an 02SRX showroom condition... Well it shows up and is not new. It has 675 miles a chunk missing from the plastic shroud around the lamp and just below the windshield. It has a 3/4" track on it(which suprised me). It has wear and is in... solid condition. My friend wants to know if he should still trade his Nytro in for this not so new SRX. B/c it was supposed to be new, all Yamaha/dealership offers apply and there was supposed to be a warranty. We currently dont know about the warranty, but Yamaha definetely does not want it b/c they said "make an offer." Any suggestions on what he should do? I hope he keeps the Nytro...

stay w/ the nitro mos def..

yeah i would deff. stay with the nitro.. kinda dumb to get rid of the nitro for a older sled that only worth like 2,500 lol
or on the flip side, buy the srx outright. with the mileage and condition, could have been a dealer demo. track was probably changed out for some parts related deal. kinda hard to tell the difference from a .75 to a .92 track at a glance, unless your well versed in tracks. warranty will apply as new, and should be straight up 3 year, if the dealer has any integrity. no trade on the 4 stroke unless your getting some major cash back.

Maybe, impulse buy on his part. But awesome sled brand new for 5500. He is 140 and the sled doesnt even know he's on it. Sled is set up for 160 pound man(which is as low as it goes, so we're told). He just likes how low the SRX sits and how it handles. He does not have any riding experience except for jet skiing(and any monkey w/arms can do that). I hope he doesnt trade... so I can occasionally ride the Nytro. Ha ha.
i bought my 98 srx in 99, dealer carry over with 40 miles on it for $5300. $5500 for a ten year old sled is quite optimistic. they were under 9k as a current model. have you guys looked at kbb or nada?onewickedr1 said:Maybe, impulse buy on his part. sounds like a dealer demo - if the dealer rode it and never registered it, it would still be new in yamaha's eyes, which means free updated, and warranty.

any advise on Nytro set up for a 5'6" 140 pound guy? He decided to keep it. this site for some reason would not let me post on the 4 stroke side.
you have to sign up to be a member over on ty4stroke as well, you can keep your same user name.
