I just finished up installing heat exchanger and tunnel protectors on my 98 SRX. I also installed 144 studs into a fairly new 1" lug track. While I was adjusting the track it seemed offly hard to rotate by hand, noticed the first front foot or so of the track rubs on th protectors, should i be worried? If it makes a difference, the tunnel protectors I ordered are from Yamaha.
Thanks

Please Help ASAP!!!!
must be your aftermarket track isnt notched on top of the track clip windows, your lug must go all the way across it. you can either let it wear in(rub), or notch it with a razor knife on top of the clip a bit.

Is this a common problem? I still need to install the front heat exchanger protectors, do you forsee any problems with this? Thanks for the response.
It will scrub off some speed for about 200 miles, then it will be good to go. Itis only a problem with unnotched tracks. Maxdlx
I had to remove the complete track assy to install the heat exchanger protector on wifes sx. My sx already had protectors installed, the track rubbed the protectors for heat exchanger until I ran for awhile. track was about 1.5 inch away from tunnel protector.
sounds stupid but how do u know if its notch or not... i'm in process to install protector

Just so I'm clear, just let it rub and work itself out.
will it rubb on a ripsaw 1 inches camoplast
I am sure the heat exchanger protector will,
Look at the lugs where your track clips/windows are, if that area is the same hieght as the rest of the lug, its not clipped.modsrx said:sounds stupid but how do u know if its notch or not... i'm in process to install protector

Just clip it, will take at most 30mins and a good pair of side cutters or a sharp knife then no rubbing at all.
