we had to pull the secondary off my buddies sled when we did a track install.... we put it back on and noticed that the belt is sitting way low in the secondary, i caught these problem, and wanna know whats going on with it, we just pulled the secondary off in one whole piece and put it back on and torqued it down to the specs in the yamaha manual... belt is worn enough to replace, but before we took the secondary off it was sitting almost flush with the the top of the sheave... its a good 1/4 inch down in there.... maybe not that much but its way lower then before...

thanks

Just work slack around the secondary. The belt will hold the secondary open if it is left down into it from installing it. This will likely smoke the belt if you try to start out this way.

Just grab the belt as it comes off the secondary on the top and on the bottom and push the excess towards the rear of the sled. The secondary should be able to shove the belt out and close as you work it into place.

Be sure to pinch your finger, like I sometimes do in the process . . . :o|

Yah, that works too. I am used to simply raising it in the clutch when I put it on. Only takes a few seconds extra.
