question on low oil light flickering

oil light flickers, even when full
pump is fine and all that

question. if I buy a take off oil reservoir, am i all set. or is there a common problem with a wire shorting soemewhere else

Sounds like the sending unit in the tank. Had on do that a few years back.

Danger Dog is right 9 times outa 10 it's the sending unit,replace that and
you should be good to go..

I've had one go bad as well(sending unit). It was doing the same as you describe. 2000 Vmax 600 DLX

I had the same issue, needed it for a 600 sxr and bought a viper tank that had the sending unit in it and that solved the problem. You can confirm fit by checking on yamaha parts web site for part numbers.
