which one would you guys suggest 780 big bore kit or the trail porting looking for more hp also wondering if any other suggestions for hp :winterrul :2strokes: :letitsnow

I had Bender port my cylinders this summer, and installed my drag&fly weights with the recommended fasteners (for ported srx). I added vforce3s and new pistons/rings/etc.

On the trail last weekend (first ride of the season), the sled over rev'd like crazy. This is an indication of the power increase. Where the sled would transfer weight and slowly fall back down within 100 feet, it now holds the front end up much longer. I can't wait unitl I get another 5 grams in the clutch.

I ran a 780 until it blew up.I took the sled to Full power performance. After talking to Justin i decided to go back to a stock cylinder that Justin ported. He also gave me a set of heel clickers that he set up along with the airbox mod. When i got the sled back i was shocked at how fast it was,it even felt stronger than the 780 i had before. My 780 must of had a crap set up because a 780 should edge out a ported 700.I took the reliabilty of the ported 700.With the little difference in the power between the two its worth having the more reliable set up imo.

no doubt. i've worked w/ justin - FULL POWER PERFORMANCE - on numerous projects. he is a very talented engine & sled builder. he has a lenghty resume building race winning sleds & engines & fast/reliable trail engines. when he was shop foreman @ benders he built my 835 trail srx. i took it to dnyotech a few months back. w/ over 2000 hard trail miles it made 194 h.p. & 121 lbs. ft. torque on pump gas.

blueblooded, that 780 that came from your sled arrived here for me to repair, that was a old maximum performance kit, they(maxx) basicly bored the cylinders and didnt do much of any porting so to speak of to them, as when you bore out the cylinders the ports become larger from the removal of the taper. They still need to be set to a certain port timing spec in my opinion. That topend was abused to say the least from when I checked the pistons, cylinder taper, port timing , etc., probally before you got it. I think I remember it giving out not long after you bought the sled? I repaired it and its running great for the guy who bought it off you in canada. Its all about the set up as to how good they run, just like anything else with sleds, set up,setup, set up, he with the best set up wins! Glad to see your happy with your ported 700, they run good when done up right.

Yea,thats what i figured.I only rode it a couple times before it blew up and i wasnt impressed with it.I got burned on that deal.It was hurt before i bought it. The tank was filled with 112 race fuel and oil which should of been a red flag. Its just hard for me to believe a person would outright screw someone like that on purpose.Im learning to never trust anyone, which is sad.I should of known a spotless 2000 780 srx with very low miles for 2500.00 was to good to be true.Live and learn.

thanks alot for the input guys i had another ? where would you pick up one of these big bore kits and what is the price difference between the two? :2strokes: :nos: :winterrul

the question i have is it worth porting a viper with the stock exhaust system in place?

No.A single pipe on a ported triple motor kinda defeats the whole purpose. You would see a bigger gain if you just added triple pipes.

bender 835 viper does not use special $1100 aftermarket pipes. uses regular bender 700 triple pipes.
