Wishing for snow!
Hey fellow S10 owners,
I was wondering what you guys are running for tires/wheels. I'm in need of some new tires. I have a 2000 4x4 extended cab, with Motomaster Roughrider 235/75R15's. That's what was on there, and they are in pretty good shape. One I had a bad Passenger side ball joint (Bought it like this) And the front pass. tire is pretty worn on the outside.
So I was thinking about getting some 275/60R15 for the rear. 255/60R15 for the fronts. I'll be dropping the truck a bit 1"/2"...... Just looking for some options.............. And pics.
Nik!

Do you have any rubbing issues? What about before you lifted it? I was also considering 31x10.5R15's.

^^^Nice, ive always liked the s10.My first brand new car was a extended cab s10.I traded that in for the crew cab s10,both great trucks.Gm screwed up when they stopped producing them.

think you might have to run the same size rubber all around or t-case problems could come up.

Yeah I was thinking about that. Never had a 4x4 truck before, lol.
my buddy runs nothing but bfgoodrich all terrains. He loves them, they give good grip and a pretty good ride for as aggressive as they are. I had a pair on a bravada few years back and couldn't get that thing stuck if i wanted to. As far as size you can run 31x10.5 without a lift but you have to give the torsion bars a bit of a tweak so the front don't rub, unless its a ZR2 then there stock.

no rubbing issues now before the lift i had a little rub when turning and hit a bump at the same time. i don't know the exact size of tire but they are 31's on a base S10 with a 3in body lift and 3in suspension lift
Like i said though to get around a lift temporarily is just tighten down the torsion bars on the front just a bit and the bumps and turns will be fine. I bet if you check some boneyards you can find a S10 ZR2 pick-up or blazer. Pull the suspension on it and put it on yours and voila 3" suspension lift, for less than an aftermarket.

I cranked the T-bars months ago and got a good 1.5" out of it. I want to drop it a bit, I prefer the lower trucks.
Buy a 2 wheel dive and put a drop kit in it.

Um... Yeah... NO!
Don't even start with "Why lower a 4x4?" BullSh*t. It's my truck and I'll do as I please! You understand that now.
Dude you need to calm down. YOU WERE ASKING ABOUT 31'S all i did was answer. Then you say i like the look of a lower truck can't have it all. If you wanna get an attitude you can piss off. YOU UNDERSTAND THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was asking for tire opinions. I was thinking about 31's, But I want a lowered truck. So obviously 31's aren't possible. I've been putting up with the "Buy a 2wd" On all the S10forums, and don't want that BS here. So sorry if I sounded like an ***, But that's the way typing makes it seem. I'm very calm, and have no "attitude".
I understand its your truck and you can do what you want. 31's will rub like a sonofagun without the t-bar tightening. If i remember right stock S10 sizes is 265-70-15's correct. You can run the different sizes front and back, we don't have any probs on the mudtrucks, you DO want to run same gearing in the front and rear diff's b/c of the t-case.

There are some options as far as tire sizes. On my truck 235/75/15 is the stock size. I'll see what happens, But since winter is here I'd rather not start messing with things, Especially since I'm working all day everyday again.

I had a s10 for years ran bfgoodrich at best tire on the market for the price......if you run around off road at all. I get about 50,000 miles out of a pair!!! You can fit 30x9.5 on your truck without doing anything, and they are about 1/2 inch bigger then 235's.My .02 cents!!!!
