All,
Just a little more help, just changed springs, and new rollers in my Hi-Tech secondary. I think I am right around 8-8100 RPM wide open, where do i need to be?
With the old Polaris spring wound tight, i was at about 8200. I can adjust this any which way, just need to know how high I dare spin this thing.
Thanks

for your '99 you want 8100 slowly climbing to 8400 stock..
8,400 I believe for a 99 srx

OK, thanks, I will add a little more pre-load in the spring and try again.daman said:for your '99 you want 8100 slowly climbing to 8400 stock..
Do not tune for rpm,s using the secondary spring. Lighten the primary weights.

toolman11k, how do you have your primary clutch setup? we need to know this. is it stock, except for the hi-tech 911 cover?
also, that new spring you got, that's unpainted w/2 yellow dots....is it a 4 coil? is the wire diameter .203" or .197"?
i still say that your 52 helix is too much to try and pull on top end.

yes i was going to say take weight out of primary
not threadjackin but would those rpm`s also apply to a 98 srx 700 ? i am in the process of replacing my 97 sx 700 with a 98srx 700
yes pops, stay at 83-8400rpm on the 98-99 srx
thanks mr viper i thought that the 98 and 99 are similar i am new to this clutching thing but i am learning from you guys.

All, I am going to wait for a little more snow, and a lake to see what's going on, i can't safely check things, I run out of straight away.
As far as the primary, I have no idea, it was on it when i bought the sled. It is working great now, but I have a bit of pre-load in the secondary spring.
I did not measure the coil diameter, I can do it if I take it apart again, it only takes a few minutes to take the secondary apart. I have not had a primary apart, not sure what to do there, i am mechanically inclined, just have never looked at one.
