ok, checked my buddies '00 srx 700 current reading, at the red/yellow wire and black wire of the handgrips by the handle bars. we started the sled w/the multimeter plugged in and the warmer dial at minimum. we got 4.5 and at maximum heat we get 12.5. if i do the same thing w/my viper, i get .333, no matter where the dial is. the dials we checked and there is no dead spots anywhere. the resistance increases each click, as i go to the maximum heat position of the dial. i checked for rub thrus in the wiring harness, that the local yamaha dealer said to check for, but there are no rub thrus. warmers ohm out fine. i have no idea what to do anymore. the worst part is that i know ZERO about this electrical stuff. i did try 4 cdi boxes and all of them same thing w/warmers. i tried different warmer dials and still same thing. i unplugged the main ignition switch and checked the continuity from the red/yellow terminal on the ignition switch plug (wiring harness side), to the red/yellow wire, where the hand warmer plugs into (up by handlebars)....and the ohms reading i got was 48.7k ohms. that seems high. what would cause this?
