any body else run a splash of extra oil in your gas tank for added lubrication or am i just a previous polaris rider?on those triples its almost mandatory to keep the crank alive.
The Yamaha oil injection and lube system is the best in the industry. No need to add oil if it is adjusted and functioning correctly. The Yamaha triples are some of the most reliable 2-strokes ever built. That said there are a few well documented issues along the way. If your SRX is an early one there was a crank update. I forget the details off the topo f my head at the moment, but a search should find it.

when you run yammy's, you dont need the extra piece of mind.

Take my srx for example, rolled over 15,000KMs last winter, just NOW changing the pistons and rings....by choice, not by need.
You dont ever see yammy's for sale with 5000K and "fresh rebuild"...those are saved up for bombs and laris's
