I've just bought a 2001 SRX 700 which im going to use for 660foot Snow and ice Drag racing this season,im new to Yamaha's after years on polaris but i do have some knowledge on CVT clutching, which weight's do most people use for Drag racing(heelclickers,Drag and Fly,Dalton adj, supertips).which springs are you guys running? Do the Srx's like a shallow finish helix,or even a straight angle? there is 8000km's on the sled compression is 140 right across,is that ok or should i look at rebuilding the topend with these km's? what is the maximum length of Stud i can run with a 1inch track and does it require tunnel protectors?
sorry for all the questions,im also doing searces on these questions.
great site!!! :winterrul

I cant speak for everyone but from what i was told heel clickers are tough to beat.
thats what i've been hearing..the Drag and Fly weight look kinda interesting as well, the heel clickers dont still fly to pieces and destroy clutches like they used to??

I've ran over 6000 km on clickers and havnt had a single issue with them, other people will beg to differ on that but thats just MO
how does your sled perform slayer..i see you have a few aftermarket upgrades?

I didnt have it dialed in perfect last year, was over revving by a few hundred and I ran 118 On radar. And it got there pretty quick. Yes it isnt stock But I did have the weights on my machine before any of the other upgrades were done. They made a huge difference then, the thing I like about them is how easy they are to adjust, if its wrong just weight it different and try again. Hopefully this year I'll get it dialed in properly and then I'm curious to see what it will do. Others will chime in with setups and such, but my understanding with clickers on an srx is steep start angle with a shallow finish angle helix have the best results. Viper Im not sure of but there are quite a few members on here with clickers on vipers that will chime in likely.

i guess not many people are Dragging these sled's anymore..im gonna try ulmer performance and simon's CPR for some info

tunnel and heat exhcanger protectors came standard unless some one removed them.I use to own my own porta tree timing system. You couldn't beat the heel clickers for drag racing.the 40-10's are a 1 piece.the hammer times are the one's blowing apart. Not many people have ran the dragon fly's everyone I know that has had nothing but great results.
YYou can run a 1.25" stud.
if you want tuning info give me a pm.

Whoa i wouldnt go any more then 1.175" TOPS. I have minimal clearance with 1.175s, 1.25s would be very very close id suspect.

1.200 chisels are fine with stock track and tunnel protectors. I don't think you can get 1.25's anymore. Make sure the track does'nt get to lose.

I always ran 1.2 and 1.25" chisels with 1/2 speed tracks. So did everyone else that ran the same cicruits. When you strap a sled doswn for drag racing it's differnt then a full height sled for instance as trail ridng and doing wheelie's

when you strap a sled down it shouldnt have alot of transfer so you can get away with a longer stud, did you ever weight your studded speedtrack Pro?

no never weighed one.Your correct when you strap them down they don't have the full travel to transfer like when set up for trail.

Yes I run 1.2's with speed track but I installed 1 1/4" full length tunnel protectors so it is impossible for them to hit. And they can hit even strapped down usually above the drive cogs as factory protectors do not go the full length of the tunnel.
