I have an 01 SRX with about 7000 mi on it. The temp light stays on as soon as I start it up and If I switch the headlight from bright to dim the entire sled shuts down.

I have heard that the wiring harness can wear on the belly pan under the motor. Do any of you "expierenced yammy boys" think this is the problem?

yes, 100 % with you describing the headlight dimmer will kill the electrical system.

it wont be the headlight relay, that was a problem after you start the sled youd have a big delay up to a couple mins before the headlight and such would work, yours is the wirng harness chaff.

1.)unhook harness up at hood hinges, tie apeice of rope/string onto end to pull back thru with later, bend over the little clamps under the pipes in front of engine.

2.) TIP: this job is much easier with the airbox and carbs removed.

a.) go over by the recoil side of engine and grab harness at the back of the engine and pull back about 3-4 feet,(also easier if you disconnect the stator plug wires in sheathe) youll see where the harness has rubbed thru and worn into the copper in the wires, untape the harness there and tape each indiavidual wire seperately, then tape all the wires back together, and place the harness in black plastic convolute tubing, reinstall harness via the string you tied on end. rehook everything back up and itll run forever without that problem again.
