Ok, i'm aware that these questions are best answered on the lake, I'll be doing that tomorrow...

My brother has a 95 800 zrt, he says it's all dialed in, Im not so sure about that, I've ridden it. But not raced against it yet, I'm meeting him tonight, at Dad & Moms for the weekend.

I've got a Vmax 700sx, (single pipe) I've jetted and clutched it, thin head gasket, reed spacers & drilled out stock can, no major mods. It has a 1.25" predator with 48 1.2" ice chisels. His zrt has a 1.25" connected cone track w/o studs.

Who's going to come out ahead?

800 zrt with airbox mods & clutching will beat on a srx in equal state of tunes. The cat engine is just more susceptible to mods & detuned in stock state. I run against all these sleds in various states of tune every weekend.
 
ok roger turk i know they are detuned but no one here play alots in them
 
Noooooo chance, 1995 ZRT 800 is one of the fastest 800 zirts, the suspension is low down, and the pipes are better. This isnt your average 99-01 zrt8, the 95-98s were significantly better perfrormers.

How would you figure the sx sled will come out on top on a lake? Lake runs at high mph is ALL horsepower, the more horses to pull the gear the longer shell pull, if anything your only chance is the first 0-30, after that its bye bye AC :)

I think you missed the joke.

He was saying the longer the run the more the chance the cat will take a sh*t.
 
so, how did the race go??? I think I know the answer.. maybe you should race him TO the lake :) a few turns and you should get him ;)

Seriously your only chance of beating that ZRT is if it beaks. All those ZRT's were fast.
 
I beat him bad! At about 50mph I totally lost him, not just walked away! BLEW AWAY!!! We stopped, I pulled up to him and asked him why he didn't race me! He was at loss for words!
We were on 8" of very loose snow, so not much over 90 mph on my GPS, but a great hookup. It was also 30° on Saturday. Sunday was a blizzard, so I didn't get out much, couldn't see worth sh*t! Got all turned around on the lake. Got 18" or so of snow, where I was at. It was -32° when I got up didn't leave for home until noon. I went for 2 short rips around 10am after it warmed up to -18, Down the road it was fckin fast!.

Are you serious? What does your SX have done to it?
