I was just frigging around with my SRX and noticed that the gas gauge seems to be dead(there is gas in it)the Tach and all other lights seem to be working fine,Tail light is lit but the brake light doesn't come on(probley just a bulb) the Gas gauge is kinda important though...anyone else have this problem?

Just a guess, but check for a rub through in your wire harness below your engine block towards the recoil side. When the harness rubs through its unpredictable what it affects. Sometimes one thing sometimes multiple things. Good luck

i will check that in the morning
thanks

Alot of times the gas gage sender float will hang up or get stuck on the gas filter on the end of the gas line in the tank. Will read empty when this happens.Use a screw driver and flick the sender arms up and see if it will work.

can i get to it through the tank opening?
seems kinda small

If the tank is drained of fuel it is easy to look inside tank and see were the end of the fuelgage sender is located or stuck.

i had a glance today,i think it may be stuck on the bottom.

mine is reading full, it would have to be stuck at the top. i looked it is floating where it should be, about half tank right now. i know with cars it was no power to sending unit read full, bad ground at sending unit it read empty, or just the opposite of that. no time to check that yet.

oh yeah, and my oil light is always flickering around, oil is full.???

I would check the wire harness under the motor for a rub-through. That was very common on these sleds.

and you have to pull the airbox and carbs to check this?
