I pulled the pv's tonight as part of my planned re-ring and guess what I found....1 pull through and 1 ready to. Son of a ..... Time to look up that fix. Does anyone have 2 they want to send me in exchange for mine and some $?

go to the dealer and fork over $330 for three new ones, the new ones are redesigned and are twice as thick on the end so they dont pull through again.

take them to a weld shop and have them tig weld the hole shut...then drill it out and file out the slot for your cable....iv done it to mine already...

$300 is a lot for something you can get fixed a lot cheaper

Yes the new style valves have a beefier top end. if you wanna go out and spend the money go ahead, i like having new stuff in my sled if it needs replacing no matter what it is, so what if it costs a little more, its a one time thing in some cases.

I'd guess that most dealers around here would have to order in and their party line for that is 5-7 business days....

As a side note I went to buy the ( New Ones) and the one they handed me were the same old ones.... New old stock maybe???? But I returned them anyway, There is a fw memebers here that can do the stainless bolt mod to them then you dont have to worry, If the new style ones have thicker aluminum its still softer metal.. just my opinion. hope this helps.

They redesigned them to reduce the pull thrus that are extremely common. Only sleds that have the modded powervalves are the ones people repaired.

It takes 1-2 business days for anything to get to my dealership, when i ordered a pv, it too 2 days.

I will take the bad ones off your hands. If you put a stainless insert in they will last forever. If you put new ones in you will pull through those also. I have over 4000 miles on the ones I repaired. NEW does not mean better.

All three of mine were pulled on my 01 srx that I just bought and I only paid $195 for all three of mine. Who is good at putting the inserts in them?

I think some guys on here have done them but I don't know personally of a machinist who will do it. The cheapest I found was $73/valve.

Check Port Yamaha. I think they have them for $68. If they were run pulled through very long then there is likely a ridge in them. To take the ridge off you ruin the coating. You could recoat but it will likely add up to more than a new valve,

Doug i know theres members on here that can do it cheap i think...mopar is one,,hopefully they see your post and PM you, sucks tho
yea i know you need it now...

Sweet. I have 3 used good ones coming. I'll get these fixed. Only one was run when pulled through and I don't think it was long. It doesn't look any different on the valve part.

$94.21 each today. Just got off the phone.
