Crunch???!!!

Kinda looks like the struts are a bit outta whack in that one picture.

The right side one looks to be leaning backwards quite a bit & the left one looks like the top of the strut is a bit beat up. Ouch!!

Be interesting to know what it hit?? :dunno:

Hmm..

Went out in the barn and looked at my sled today. The air boxes are off center to the centerline of the machine. There is a piece of channel iron (for lack of a better description) that goes between the front of the air boxes. I measured halfway between the air boxes at the front of that piece of steel to the center of the top of the left strut, like you show in your picture. I came up with 27". Ski stance should be 38.5" center to center. I also have manuals with some schematic drawings of the sled. I assume the engineers at Yamaha probably tried to keep everything proportional in their drawings, because the 3 that I measured with a protractor showed the strut angle at 22 degrees. Purely unscientific, but it might get you close.

the guy I got the sled from said that a friend of his had a little so much soda one night and hit one of those big concrete blocks that block the tail were we ride.

take the shock cover off what happens is the the top of the shocks bends i have seen this happen before it is hard to bend the front frame you are going to need two front shocks if you have any question call me i pick one up from insurance because they totaled it out and all we had to do was replaced the front shocks and hood and some other parts but we found out that the frame was not damaged so make shure to look at the frame not where you are looking if you need shocks i have to brand new one and if you need and questions answered just call me jerry 807-274-6907
