Differences between 98-99, and 00+ SRX skis?

I have a set of 98 SRX700 skis on my 97 venture. I am a huge fan of the stud boy shaper carbides, but they apparently don't make a set for the 98-99 SRX. They make them for 00+ SRX's. Will the 00 carbides fit on a set of 8 skis?

I see woody's dually's or stud boys version of the dually's are not made either for a 98-99 SRX. What gives?

So is the 98-99 SRX ski, the same bolt pattern as the USI ski? That is what it sounds like. If so, what USI ski was it called so I can order the correct wear bar, if a shaper is made for them? Or is it more than just an oversight in the application chart, and stud boy simply does not make shaper bars that fit the 98-99 ski?

Motodave, are you saying if you remove the saddle, then you can make the newer style SRX wear bars fit the 98-99 skis?

hey

the 00 and up carbides will fit on, I did this to my 1998 srx, just ordered them for a 00 - up srx.... just have to drill a new hole if I remember correctly... not a big deal at all

Thanks for the info. As long as it was only 1 hole per ski I think I will go this route, unless the new hole is very close to another. That way it will have dual pattern skis for whatever bars we get.

I went with 4" of woody's extender 3 carbides for the 98-99 srx ski. I will see if the 20 dollars I saved was worth it versus getting the shaper bars. I was having some darting issues on the venture last winter, and using shaper bars corrected that on some of my other sleds. See I bought these used srx skis from a TY member last fall, and the carbides on them were deemed suitable for last year. Well, the end of last year the old carbides were really shot. I can always put a little tension on the front shocks and it should take care of the darting. It wasn't ever really bad, but with the mileage we put on the venture, I want it as close to perfect as possible. :)

If I can't tune the darting out, I will get the newer type SRX shaper bars and drill away:)
