Is this normal... sometimes when i gun my sled.. the oil light will blink on for .1 of a second just enought to catch it out of the corner of my eye. it doesnt stay on nor does it happen often... and my oil tank is full.. should i worry about it or is it just happenin cause im hamering it... or does it have to do with my wiring..

could be nothing but i wana make sure i dont got the funds for anymore problems with my toys not right now anyways!
Thanks!

hey

Possibly a bad oil sensor, when it happens pull over on the trail and check your plugs to make sure your not leaning out your sled to be safe... was it fully serviced this year... maintaining your sled and checking it over is always cheaper than replacing your engine...

when your oil light blinks that's telling you there is something wrong...maybe it could be leaning out for some reason...dirty carbs...ect who knows just my opinion...but
CHECK IT BEFORE YOU RECK IT....

I had it fully serviced right when i bought it... and the guy i bought the sled off of cleaned the carbs n the whole deal.. b4 i went to pick it up...

Il deff check out the plugs when it happens again.... what color are they if its too lean?? how do i fix that...

hasnt happened yet while riding normal... only when i hit wot

alrite thanks for the info!... ill check it out...

so if my plugs are fine thens its just the sensor correct? well more than likely...

I can let that go till the end of the season atleast or should i get the fixed asap?

yea... thats what im thinking hopefully she will hold through till the end of season.. then i going to do a nice little tear down clean er up nice n good
repaint the trailing arms and shocks and ofcoure re do the wiring so i dont get a mid season surprise.. if it dont happen this season...

Wonder if any one seen this.... Im thinking on painting my trailing arms yellow as well as redoing my shocks with a yellow plastic coat base paint.. aas well as redooin my hood screens yellow.. not a flashy yellow but something decent....

not to hyjack your thred but i have a 98 700 that when i hit 80 the light flashes ...i counted 6 or 7 flashes but it was hard to count doing 80+and watching the dash ....havent figured out why it flashes but i am thinking it is due to a oil sensor ......

lol... well im crossing my fingers that its a bad sensor...

Now that i have my rpm n clutches working good.. it goes on EVERY time i go more than 3/4 throttle or hold it reving at around 8-8500 rpm... when it flashed i checked my plugs and they are blackish brownish colour...

Are the oil injectors known to go on these sleds? what colour do the plugs get if theres a lack of oil? or is there a way to see if i do got a problem with the oil injector.. though i dont kno why it would only flash when i have it reving at the higher rpms.. cause it will not come on at all if im toyign around n keeping it at around 7500-8000 rpm

Is it also normal to have the exhaust kind of pop every once in awhile? hasnt done that b4 but this is the first time ive had in -20 degree weather... could that be a reason for the exhaust to pop? i check the plugs n they where all fine...

Other than not being able to open up my sled on a lake this weekend that thing is AWSOME when u got the clutches tuned in decently! though it sucks not being able to go over 120-130km/h cause of the oil light...

i have the exact same issue on my 98!i thought i was going crazy!when i came to a smooth strait section i would look at it for a second or 3 and it wouldnt blink!as soon as i looked away it would!i already repaired the under the motor wires(which i re routed)and still have the issue.i checked my plugs and piston wash and all seems good so i have to assume its a bad sensor?i did realize if the oil container is full to the neck it dosnt do it.it waits until its about 3 inches down.

ill have to try topping it off and see what happens ....i to have checked plugs and they look like brown cardboard just like they are suppost to ...i am gonna pull the oil tank off one of my other sleds and see if it goes away or moves to a different sled

guy's...

Just change out the oil senser,,common problem on the '98-'00 srx's...senser pulls up and out of the bottle..

alrite.. well mine does it no matter how much oil i got = /

I just dont wana rag it and have a lack of oil n boom..... mayb the oil injection isnt keeping up with the high speed and rpm?

This is def driving me nuts though... cause it could b something as little as a bad sensor to bad wirring OR it can be something very bad such as slow/bad oil injection..
Just dont know what to expect!

Ive been having ALOT of bad luck with my toys.. so its makin me kinda nervous not sure waht to expect...

just would need some pointers on what to do.. so far im bringer her in to the mechs hopefully have her back b4 xmas... but i mean if i can save some money n do it myself bonus... but id rather spend the money now and have it checked then waiting till something bad happens..

So far everyone is saying its a sensor... so im gettin reliefed abit but i still wana make 100% sure its that....

I just dont understand how if it is the sensor.. it only flashes at high speed and rpm? wouldnt it be flashing at any random moment with a bad sensor?

the oil injex pump on these srx's are very very reliable you don't have to worry about that, they adjust flow amount with the variation of the throttle.

to help you sleep at night next ride put a small mark on the bottle and watch oil go down as you ride.

I kno the oil flow is going through, i had to fill her up once this weekend just wondering if it wasnt adjusting according to the rpm n speed properly... but if so i guess my plugs wouldnt be choc browm like they are supposed to...

ill get the sensor changed and like i said go from there... Im sure thats the one sensor u would want to have work properly...

And what about my pop in the exhaust? it caughs once in a while every 20-30 seconds while idling... or if u hold the rpm around 3-4k rpm it will pop every 10-15 secs... once im off riding theres no problems though... normal or? u guys have a hard time starting the sled in minus 15degree weather?
