no problem we all had to learn at one point....as you pull your throttle lever closer to the bar there is a cable attached it that is attached at the other
end to the oil pump so it incresses flow as you pull farther on the throttle
lever.

look at your lever theres two cables,oil pump,throttle(carbs)

ahhh ok.. actually i checked that out thinking that would be one of the reasons n its in properly no slack or anyhting...

Im shocked i actually did something right haha...

So im gona change the sensor, test it out n from there i guess il have to see n go from there... but if it still does it after the sensor change im guna be bummed out!

you'll get it..

hey if ya really want to check things out;

Do these checks in this order;

1st- set idle to 16- 1,7000 rpm's(@ operating temp)

2nd- set throttle end play to 2mm(adjustment for that is down at the carb rack)

3rd- set oil pump cable free play here and here to 21(richer)to 22(leaner)mm

then set choke anytime to 1.5mm

sweet ill def look and check those things out!!!

uhm where would the adjustment cable peices be located? will save me time instead of me hunting around in there looking for them... does anythin need to be removed to access those points?

I kno i already got to fix my idle at operating temp .. its idling at 12 or 14 right now i think...

look for the joint in the oil cable(in the pic) and the adjustment for the
throttle is down at the carb rack you'll see it.

also plug color doesn't tell ya if the pump is adjusted right,need to check..

ohh ok... what should i look for if the pump ent adjusted right?? it should have a gap between 21-22mm ... or should i just increase it if the light still goes on after the sensor is changed n checked...

i kno im kinda reapting this but...

if the sensor is bad... wouldnt it flash at any given moment rather than at high speeds n high rpms?

no this has nothing to do with your oil light two different issues..just a maintance check.

well as soon as its changed and tested ill b back on here posting if it was it or not!..

More than likely will just bring er down to the mech n let him change the sensor and dpending go even further n check out the other stuff .. that way im not doing this outside in a tempo freezin my nuts off..I def rather spend the money than freeze!... though everything ur telling me is VERY good info.. helps me b more knowligable for my sled and def will check it out just so i have a better idea of what ur showin me!

sled is still on the trailor packed from my trip this weekend so might as well get my mom to bring it in while im at work...

jesus i cant wait till we have our garage built up this spring. will def be very conviniant!!! (house garage already packed with atv's harleys and rice burners) no room for the sleds = (

well talked to the mech... itsa bad sensor.. hes saaying when its very cold out the wirring gets kinda funky until ur sled warms up.
Then the vibration at high speeds makes the oil light flash... he was saying that IF my oil injectors where bad for some reason it doesnt mean the light will flash or go on
He just said the light is a dummy light which will only go on once the oil is low in the tank... it has nothing to do with how much oil ur engine is getting through ur injectors. unless your oil tank is low ofcourse.

Thanks for all the help guys!! apriciate very much!

My 98 srx had exactly the same problem last year. Light would flash at higher rpm's. Finally when my tachometer started freaking out I went after the infamous rub under the motor, and found three wires stripped back. After repairing them, all my electrical problems went away...including the flashing oil light.
