Read sig for sled (04 viper mtn). My suspension is in the lower holes in the middle and back, and I wonder if I need to adjust my shock in the rear or what. My sled sits up high, like i like it, but it is so stiff when I sit down it dont sag any and when I go to pick it up, there is no suspension movement, its tight and lifts right up. I know its probably the opposite of most peoples problem, but it seems like i cannot get any transfer with the way its set up now. Suspension gurus step up and give me some tips please :)

put the fra in the c setting, loosen the rear shock to the loosest setting, front of rear shock at midpoint, limiter straps all the way out. ride it, keep stiffening the front shock until it transfers how you want it to, without trenching.

jeez, got the answers to all my questions, lol. Sorry whats fra and where is the c setting. Also, how do I loosen up that shock? I have my limiters out and my transfer enhancement straps pretty loose, and no transfer. Thanks

fra: full range adjuster. located just ahead of the rear of rear shock. 3 spots on this, a at the top, b, center, c, bottom. c is the stiffest setting. if your in c now, go to a. to adjust shock, a shock wrench is especially handy, or some channel locks will work in a pinch. there are slots on the shock, take a close look and find the slot that gives the least spring tension. it will be obvious. if your running an mpi th kit, it the rear scissor vertical or tipped forward or rearward? you may need to tighten the transfer straps.

If the video dos not help take some pics of the mounting holes locations and the straps.Did you buy it like this or add the 156"on and have this problem? It sounds like the middle axle needs to be mounted closer to the rear of sled so the shock mount can rotate.Only a quess here.

You say the suspension is in lower holes front and back so there is drop brackets installed?Has the spring been tightened up for a higher ride? The fra mount should be close to straight up and down with no rider. It pivots > when sled lifted < when sat on.

I think those chassis had two sets of holes from Yamaha, my old 2000 Venture did. Two holes for the rear and center shaft and they appeared to be laid out by the engineers for the correct geometry as long as you are in the top or bottom holes. I assume they did this so they could use the same tunnel for the Venture and Mountain sleds, to accommodate different lug heights.

I noticed you asked if the rear scissor is verticle or tipped forward or backward. Mine is straight. What is it suppose to be?

I have the same problem. I streched my 98MM to a 144". I relocated the skid back 4", Moved the W arm back, MPI transfer kit, rear drop brackets. Now it doesn't transfer and the suspension doesn't move when you lift the back of the sled.

I current have a Hartman Inc on my 98 MSRX stretched to a 151" and I used all the measurements from that. The MSRX wheelies like crazy and the suspension does what its supose to do.

Any help guys would be much appreciated.
