It revs great to 8000,then you let off and hit the gas again and it bogs?? Sounds like its not backshifting correctly.

Would the tors let it rev that high if it was malfunctioning? When my tors acted up i could hardly rev it up to get the clutches engaged.
Merged and moved this thread.
The TORS may be a result of a sticky throttle cable (the design intent). Sled works fine to xxxx RPM but goes to TORS because the carb or flipper switch fails to be made on release of the flipper..... Not saying that's it, but it's pretty easy to rule out.

clutch set up(secondary)
does it bog when you press and press the throttle or does the motor do nothing? It seems to me the motor will have a tendancie to bog if it were in the clutching and do nothing if it were related to the tors.

no boging or poping no hesitation allmost like its loading up from back to back throtling and when the r,s get up there you try to throtle again and it doent respond.

we need you clutch set up.......wrap, spring, helix..
First of all, check the TORS system. It's super easy to do and should be eliminated. Check post #9 in this link. http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/showthread.php?t=53216 (Make sure you have the track off the ground when you try this)
If nothing happens during the test, then the system is likely bypassed and it's not the source of your problem. If it acts the same way during your test as it does when you're driving it, then post for some help. If it doesn't act the same way, then get after the clutches.
What's the mileage on the sled???
