Since we have 12 inch of snow on the ground I was thinking of riding my snowmobile but I realized I need to insure my sled. Simple call up foremost and add it to my bike policy but I don't have the VIN #. 6 weeks ago I mail the DNR all the paper work including the old owner certificate... So no luck there, so to the chassis but I made my own custom expert X mounting that covers the VIN on the tunnel so the only number I have is the engine VIN intill the DNR gets back to me.
Is the vin number on engine the same as the chassis? (yes it is an original motor)

You have to insure your sled?? that would suck!

I don't know, I also thought you had to but maybe you don't. I had two sleds and a trailer stolen from back in December 2006. (Without insurance)

No, in WI, you do not need to have insurance to ride the trails.

always nice to have tho. For me it is at least, maybe it would be a different story if i had a mortgage and multiple vehicles and a family to feed.

The VIN number is not the same, call the DNR and they gave me my VIN number. Kinda interesting the motor and chassis are different. I guess there is no way of tell if the motor is original motor it came with.

I thought that the engine # is usually incorporated into the tunnel #? It is on mine anyway.
