hi i have an 01 srx 700 now this is similar to a recent post but anyway when you punch on it it has good low end but it will rev right up to 7000 and then just holds there and the engine sounds boggy when it hits 7000 now does this sound like clutching and if so what kind of setup shoud i be going to for riding mostly powder and ditch banging aany help would be great

mine did that, but i was breaking fresh trail, and it was probably a powder bog. once i got outta the powder it did its normal thing.

ok so i think i ruled out the clutching if you ease into the throttle you can get your revs up to about 7500 to 8000 but as soon as you go close to full throttle it bogs down almost sunds like too much air... any ideas?

did u check compression ,carb are they clean ,power valve properly ajusted ,what u got for clutching ,is it a new bog from this year

i just bought th sled and first two miles of riding i noticed this top end problem then the top end blew up on me i replaced all three pistons, rings, and one cylinder now its bacck running and the top end issue is still there now i do have my fuel mixed 50:1 for brea inn purposes but that shouldnt effect the top end should it

I'm no pro but don't count out clutching just yet...could be worn out clutch components-secoundary shifting too quick due to soft spring etc. My 2000 had the same type of scenario (only occasionally)...went through clutches... new bushings etc... all is well now!!!

i think u should check those carb jets, pilot ect.....u will need to give more info about clutch set up.....by the way the more oil u will put the leaner it will be so take care of that ...(CYLINDER BURN FOR SOMETHING )

ok but if its clutching it shouldnt climb to 7500-8000 at part throttle then bog at full throttle should it i really dont no much as this is my first sled other than an old excel v 540 haha

well all i know about the clutches is i have a green white green primary spring and a red secondary with a helix marked 8bv70 and the secondary spring is set at 80 degrees now as for the fuel are you saying i may not get good top end with that much oil in it

i havent been holding it wide open ive been told the best way to break it in is to run mid range accelerating now and then to cover the full range of operation

(oil)it will not change nothing about your top end .....did u take a look inside carb to make sure they are clean .... who adjust those power valve ?? if u do a search they made great post how to do it .....

i just had the carbs off and cleaned them although they seemed spotless however when cleaning i found a main jet just layin in the bowl i thought this had been my issue previously but its back in place and still havin issues as for the power valves i cleaned them and checked adjustment they seem bang on

if you run weight 8dn-20 it should work ...if they put original big rivets ..so sounds like motor doesnt pull good :wel:
