no spark 99 srx ?? HELP

99 srx died end of last year. just took the motor out and repaired the wiring harness and checked all electrical components per the manual, still can't get any spark. could the cdi box have smoked when the wire under the motor shorted out ? the headlight doesn't even try to light up when pulling it over. Any help would be appreciated.

I would bet my left pick it is the stator.
