i bought a 00 srx last year. ran fine last year. this year put a new power valve and cleaned the carbs. took it for the first ride and now when you let off the throttle it will sit at 3000rpm for 5 or 10 seconds and then come back to an idle. it just bogs the engine if you don't wait until it comes back to an idle. runs fine if you don't let off the throttle all the way. some times you have to hit the choke to bring the rpm down. removed carbs again don't see anything wrong or plugged. it has fresh 91 in the tank. any kind of help would be appreciated.

its the TORS (throttle override system) Usually it gets activated after carb removal/install because the throttle cable is too tight, there should be slack in the throttle cable, should not be tight, the cable should go tight when the thumb lever pivots on the switch to pull the cable, when no throttle is applied you should see it loose.

Could be a bad switch but i bet its the throttle cable too tight, happened to my buddy, loosened the throttle and its all back to normal.

sounds to me like you need to open the fuel screws a little more.sounds like once the rpm range exceeds or comes to the point it runs on the pilot circuit it is lean.there a ton of topics in search about that.

your pilot circuit is getting plugged and causing a lean issue. hence the reason the idle comes down after flipping the choke a little. take carbs off, clean the pilot jets/pilot circuit and adjust the fuel screws to 1-1/8 turns out from lightly seated. also, since you've taken the carbs off before, just double check the adjustment of the throttle cable.....maybe too tight? i'm still leaning towards your pilot jets/pilot circuit.

we need to know what kind of bog is it, tors or fuel problem, you know what
tors is??

side note: also your 91 fuel probably isn't cutting it shoould be using higher.
