I am wondering what would be the cause that would make my sled not idle properly(constantly have to give it gas for the first 2-3 min. of a cold start). It idles well when warm or after that 2-3 min. period but when it's cold i have to sit there and give it a bit off gas so it won't die. What would cause this, choke not adjusted?

From what I read you have to keep the choke on full to start then 1/2 way for a little till it will run with it off.

If that does not help then clean your carbs. ( look at my signature)

Sounds like carbs might be dirty...also check power valves..may have one that is stuck open...

Maybe.....maybe not..... use at your own discression.

I start it on full choke(takes 3 pulls cold) run for 5-10 sec. on full then turn to half and try to keep it running for maybe 2-3min. or not even then turn off and by this time it idles perfectly it's only when cold. It doesn't need to have choke on to keep running like I read in some other posts(dirty pilots) so I figured it was something else. I am not sure on the pilot screws as i just got this sled but i am assuming wherever they are stock.

Warm idle is perfect but sometimes when I come to a stop it sticks around 4000(fuel screws should be out more correct?). Do you have to pull the carbs to adjust the fuel screws?

yes you may be lean on the idle circut is why you have a hard time running
at start up,try check your screws for 1-7/8 out from seat.

yes carbs have to come out(they are clean?)

hmm so im guessing im having sort of the same issue??...

i got an srx same deal almost exept.. its taking me 5-6 pulls on a cold start full choke some times i need to give it a small shot of gas to get it started... then once its started i sit there for a min or two using the half choke on n off until its able to idle on its own.. i only leave the half choke on for a max of 5 secs though sometimes it still dies but i just pull her again on full choke (no shot of gas require) n repeat the proceedures.. but this is in -20degree weather outside after a night in alot of wind n no cover on it... normal or somethin needs some adjustments?

lol thanks again daman!!!!

thats what i figured but doesnt hurt to make sure!! lol kinda sucks abit when ur friend gots electric start n starts without hesitation n ur there pulling like a soab...

but on the days she starts good within a few pulls it look good = p
