Id say neither. Both sleds have issues. F7s are known for the engines grenading after 5,000 miles and for overall poor chassis durability and the Revs are known for weak bulkheads and poor engine durability.

so I guess the F7! it only has 1000 miles, & i go north one time a year & the one snow we get here a year thats 500 miles a year so if it blows up at 5000 thats 8years!

LIFE MEMBER ONLY ONCE!!!
daman...did he forget about a Yamaha for a second sled???When guys are tuning in that the Cats and Doo's have motor issue's..why would you buy one then kysledneck. If that F7 has low miles, maybe something the owner knows that you don't.,and he is tossing it aside.

I would do the DOO the ring problem was solved in early 04 but the cats still had probs with there ACT drives. It should last a long time i dont know about that weak bulkhead my bro is 300# and beats the hell out of his rev 3000 mi and still strong. But the f7 will eat the doo up as long as it lasts?

Oh and all the yamahas have 5000 miles on them! LOL! Well not all!bluemonster1 said:daman...did he forget about a Yamaha for a second sled???When guys are tuning in that the Cats and Doo's have motor issue's..why would you buy one then kysledneck. If that F7 has low miles, maybe something the owner knows that you don't.,and he is tossing it aside.

My sled experience:
New 97 zr 440......burned down at 700 miles.Oil pump failure. New 97 zr580 efi......blew up with 1200 miles.Dealer said an efi glitch caused it.
New 99 zr 700.....numerous broken motor mounts, worst handling sled in history.Engine vibration was nuts.
2000 zr 440.....blew up at 1000 miles....circlip fell out.
98 ski doo mach z....tons of electrical problems.Stator blew, fuel pump quit, crank bearings let go at 3000 miles
99 ski doo mach z....rod broke at 2000 miles and sawed the crankcase in half.
Went to yamaha....
2000 sxr 600...zero problems,always ran like a top.
2001 srx 700....awsome machine,zero problems.
2002 srx 700....again,zero problems,great sled.
2001 sxr 600....flawless....never any trouble.
2004 viper s....great sled,no problems.
2000 srx 780 big bore.....blew up,broken piston skirt.Went back to stock and ran great when i sold it.
I just picked up my 3rd sxr 600.
I will never go back to cat or doo......The season is too short to be dealing with sled failures.Too many sled trips have been ruined because my sleds broke down, since ive switched to yamaha i no longer worry about that.
Bottom line...i would take a yamaha with 5000+ miles on it over a cat or a doo with 500 miles on them.

I know you dont want to go into why, but its important to know to answer the question.kysledneck said:I have a 97 sx! so I belong here! lol! The Doo will be the best overall trail sled, while the F7 will be fast and take straight line bumps well.

ok....if those two were your only choice i would take the ski doo. You'll spend more time riding it instead of waiting for it to get fixed.

Your gonna love the srx....but your also gonna miss the sxr when the trails get rough.I just love the sxr for aggresive trail riding.I even tried my buddies srx with long travel and i still liked the sxr better in the junk. With the lighter weight and longer travel i can go faster with my sxr than i could with my srx.Last year i rode with a guy who bought a new ski doo xp 800 and he couldnt believe my lil sxr 600 was stock because it just rips on the tight rough trails we ride around here.
