my srx700 runs fine as long as u are giving it some throttle when u let all the way off then go to get back on the gas it spits sputters and backfires before going again.
also was wondering what a conservative jet sizes would be for michigan riding i dont want to run too rich but would rather be on the rich side than running too lean
one more thing my clutch side foot rest cooler hit something and sprung a leek. what is the best way to fix it.

mine did that first time i got it. one of the plugs was fouled out. swapped out the plugs and all was good.

Did you clean the carbs? For the leak you can buy that 2 part clay epoxy and try that.My buddy threw a stud into his rear heat exchanger and that is what we used.He rode the sled for two years after that with no problems.

It seems like a lot of people are having this type of problem with plugged pilot jets. What the hell are they putting in the fuel these days, ive never seen so many carb problems. My buddy just dropped off his sxr 700,it was backfiring and running on two cylinders at an idle. After checking the plugs/spark i cleaned the pilot jets and it runs great now.I'd double check and make sure your jets are clean.
I just had the same problem with my sled sputtering and backfiring, I knew it was running lean so I pulled the carbs. The pilot jets were totally plugged, never had this problem with any other sled...must be bad gas or moisture from last year...I ran fuel stabilizer like I have always done. What's up with that?
