Hey guys,
I was installing bar risers today on my SRX and also changing out the cables. Now that I have the new brake cable on, i cant get any fluid to push out of the brake fluid resevior into the brake line. if you pump and pump the brake lever, nothing happens and there is no resistance. If I take the brake line off at the fluid resevior and hold my finger over the fitting coming from the resevior, i can feel it building up pressure, then when i move my finger it will squirt out a little bit of brake fluid but will not squirt anymore out if you pump the brake lever more.

when the brake line is connected to both the resevior and caliper and both bleeders are open, i can hear air coming out of the bleeders when the brake lever is pumped. I tried putting the old brake line back on to see if I could get that one to work, but it did the same thing. I havent rode it yet this year, but last year and from, what I know, up until know the brakes have worked fine.

Any ideas on what it could be?

Do one bleeder at a time, open one, depress the brake lever then close the bleeder then let off the brake, if you leave it open, you will get no resistance because its just sucking the air back in.

then open up the bleeder again and depress the brake again then close the bleeder and release the lever, make sure you keep the resivoir above half full all the time.

you will get fluid eventually, do each side seperate.

Ah, that i didnt try. It will be a couple of days until I can work on it again.

Thanks Yamidude
